NOTICE OF OPEN POSITIONS POSTING DATE: October 27, 2026 POSITION: At-Risk 1st Grade Instructional Paraprofessional at Grayling Elementary School, up to 5 positions DESCRIPTION: Full time paraprofessional to work in classrooms, in small groups and in individual instruction with Grayling Elementary students in a 1st Grade classroom. Some lunch or recess supervision may be required. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must have at least a high school diploma Strong mathematical skills inclusive of algebra Must be able to communicate at a high level both orally and in writing. Must demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision. Must be flexible and organized and be team-oriented with a willingness to collaborate and communicate with elementary school staff. Must be patient, calm, consistent, and possess an easy-going demeanor. Must be a quick thinker with the ability to problem-solve on short notice. Must be willing to continue to obtain further training and professional development as it applies to this position. Must be able to manage difficult students Experience with selecting appropriate reading materials as to content, interest, and reading level. Experience with and knowledge of current children's literature. Ability to facilitate language arts, guided reading, and intervention support Experience or willingness to learn how to administer the NWEA assessment and experience with analyzing the results of the assessment. Experience with the facilitation of technological devices. WORK YEAR: 180 student days plus vacations and holidays, 7 hours per day.
