Low Voltage Estimator – Security, AV & Cabling (Experienced)
Fort Lauderdale, FL · Full-time · On-site · Full benefits · $80,000–$90,000 + performance bonus
You already estimate. Come estimate the whole building.
You've priced security, access control, fire, AV, cabling or electrical work, maybe one trade, maybe several. At Coranet, you'll own complete commercial low-voltage bid packages across the full Division 27/28 scope, from drawing review and takeoff through pricing, proposal, and post-award turnover. You'll work in person every day with our sales team, operations and senior estimators.
Estimators own the entire quote at Coranet. Sales and operations depend on your accuracy and diligence. One missed scope item, a counting error or off-market pricing can cost us a job or customer. You are familiar with bids and handling a bid set of documents: you'll find what's missing, document your assumptions, and keep the bid moving.
What you'll own
- The entire quote: plans, specs, addenda, schedules and bid requirements, from takeoff through final price and proposal, including interfaces between systems and other trades
- Takeoffs in Bluebeam Revu: accurate counts, measurements and part numbers on every sheet and revision. AI-assisted takeoffs help you move faster
- Specs and systems: understand the specs and the systems well enough to know what works, what won't and what the design actually needs
- Scope gaps and risk: find what's missing or contradictory, write RFIs and clarifications, and understand how a miss, a scope gap or poor market pricing exposes the company
- Partner and vendor pricing: communicate with partners, distributors and manufacturers to get competitive pricing, negotiate their quotes and build lasting relationships
- Coverage: know where we can deliver work and where we can't, and source new partners and pricing as needed to expand coverage
- Current pricing: keep pricing current with the latest systems and designs
- Estimates in simPRO: labor, material and assemblies. New to simPRO? We'll teach you
- Full Div. 27/28 scope: structured cabling, fiber, pathway and support, racks, CCTV, access control, intrusion, wireless, AV, BDA/DAS and related systems
- Proposals: clear inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, alternates and value engineering
- Post-award: cut sheets, product data, submittals and a clean turnover to the PM covering scope, assumptions, labor plan and procurement notes
- Bid pipeline: track what's out, follow up and flag risk
- Sales support: the technical voice in bid reviews and customer pitches
- Mentoring: help train our associate estimators
You'll fit if you have
- 2+ years estimating commercial low voltage, security, fire alarm, AV or electrical work, including takeoffs, labor and material pricing, and proposals
- Strong Bluebeam Revu or similar takeoff software skills
- The ability to read and reconcile plans, specs, schedules, risers and addenda
- Sound judgment on what's included, what's missing and when an assumption needs review

- Interest in new tools, including AI, and in learning the scopes you haven't priced yet
- Daily availability in our Fort Lauderdale office
Nice to have (we'll train the rest)
