Position Summary
Community Infusion Solutions is seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager
with healthcare operations experience who can take ownership of projects and personally drive them through completion.
This is not a director, department manager, or high-level strategy position. We need an experienced individual contributor who understands healthcare operations and is comfortable doing the work: building implementation plans, configuring systems, documenting workflows, testing solutions, training employees, resolving problems, and following up until every deliverable is complete.
The right person will bring structure to projects without needing a large team or extensive administrative support. They will work directly with the Chief Operating Officer, CIS employees, hospital clients, and outside vendors to turn healthcare operational needs into working solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Execute Client Implementations
- Build and maintain detailed implementation plans, timelines, task lists, and readiness checklists.
- Personally complete assigned implementation tasks and follow up with others on dependent items.
- Gather information and requirements from clients, employees, vendors, and leadership.
- Organize project files, decisions, action items, system requirements, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare systems, workflows, forms, reports, and operational materials for go-live.
- Conduct readiness reviews and identify incomplete or at-risk deliverables.
- Support go-live activities and remain involved until outstanding issues are resolved and operations are stable.
Build and Improve Systems
- Translate healthcare operational problems into practical system or workflow solutions.
- Configure applications, user settings, forms, templates, reports, and other system components within the limits of available platforms.
- Research system capabilities and determine how existing tools can better support CIS operations.
- Work directly with vendors to troubleshoot problems and implement changes.
- Work directly with our data analyst to build better custom reporting and solutions.
- Test new systems, features, integrations, reports, and workflows before deployment.
- Document defects, communicate technical issues clearly, and verify that corrections work as intended.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate unnecessary steps, reduce manual work, and improve reliability.
Document Operational Processes
- Observe and evaluate how employees currently perform their work.
- Create clear process maps, standard operating procedures, checklists, job aids, and training materials.
- Convert informal or employee-dependent processes into standardized, repeatable workflows.
- Update documentation when systems or procedures change.
- Maintain an organized and accessible library of current operational materials.
- Confirm that documented processes accurately reflect how the work should be performed.
Test, Train, and Support Users
- Create test scenarios and personally conduct system and workflow testing.
- Coordinate user testing and document results, defects, and required changes.
- Develop training materials based on actual CIS workflows.
- Conduct employee training for new systems and processes.
- Provide hands-on support during implementation and stabilization.
- Monitor adoption and address gaps in understanding or execution.
- Follow issues through resolution rather than simply referring them to someone else.
Drive Projects to Completion
- Break projects into specific actions, owners, deadlines, and measurable deliverables.
- Maintain accurate project trackers and provide concise status updates.
- Identify stalled work, missing information, and unresolved decisions.
- Communicate directly with the people responsible for completing project tasks.
- Escalate material risks or barriers to the Chief Operating Officer promptly.
- Verify that completed work meets the agreed requirements.
- Close projects only after deliverables are complete, documented, tested, and operational.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in healthcare operations, healthcare implementation, healthcare systems, revenue cycle, process improvement, or a related healthcare field.
- Experience working within or supporting a hospital, health system, physician practice, ambulatory setting, or other healthcare provider organization.
- Demonstrated history of personally executing projects - not only supervising or coordinating other people’s work.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly.
- Experience creating workflows, procedures, project plans, training materials, and operational documentation.
- Ability to test systems methodically, identify problems, and work through resolution.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities without losing ownership of deadlines or deliverables.
- Willingness to work directly in systems, spreadsheets, documents, and project-management tools.
- Ability to operate independently in a small-company environment with limited administrative support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in infusion services, hospital operations, revenue cycle, patient access, or another healthcare provider environment.
- Experience supporting healthcare client implementations or technology deployments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, project-management software, workflow-mapping tools, reporting platforms, and cloud-based business systems.
- Experience working directly with software vendors and technical support teams.
- Experience creating standard operating procedures and employee training resources.
