Original job description

About the role

As a Java Full Stack Developer with React.js, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React.js. You will be a valued member of the application development team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and distributed delivery teams to build secure, reliable, and high-quality digital solutions.

In this role, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain full-stack enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices that support scalable, business-critical applications.
Perform hands-on coding, debugging, unit testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and application performance optimization.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams, provide technical guidance, resolve development challenges, and support successful delivery within an Agile environment.

Work model

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring three days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Irving, Texas. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs.

The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured, we will always be clear about role expectations.

What you need to have to be considered

Eight or more years of experience in full-stack application development, with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and enterprise application development.
Strong experience developing user interfaces using React.js, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.
Experience with unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning, code-quality practices, Git, and continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
Ability to analyze business requirements, design technical solutions, work independently, and collaborate effectively with onsite and offshore teams in an Agile or Scrum environment.

These will help you stand out

Experience implementing AI chatbots or Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions.
Exposure to generative AI technologies and Large Language Model integrations.
Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments.
Experience mentoring, supporting distributed teams, and leading technical discussions.

We’re excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don’t hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum requirements listed. Think about your transferable experiences and unique skills that make you stand out as someone who can bring new and exciting things to this role.
