Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Bus Driver. You will be responsible for safely transporting passengers along designated routes while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to interact positively with passengers of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Operate a bus in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport passengers to and from designated locations according to established schedules.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transit.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with disabilities.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide information to passengers regarding routes, schedules, and local attractions.
- Handle cash and electronic fare collection, ensuring accurate accounting.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior and exterior.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Previous experience as a bus driver or in a similar role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Physical ability to assist passengers, including lifting and carrying luggage if necessary.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
