Job Summary:
This role defines the scope of effort for CentralSquare software and services projects and documents it in a way that aligns CentralSquare and the client. It responds to scoping requests from sales by producing estimates of the hours required to deliver a project, which inform pricing and quoting, and it authors the Statements of Work and Statements of Services (SOW/SOS) that define the specific tasking, deliverables, and responsibilities for each engagement. This role fulfills a vital function in the presales process: accurate scope protects CentralSquare project teams from resourcing surprises and protects CentralSquare and the client from confusion or conflict over contracted scope.
This role is the primary liaison between the sales organization, product management, and the services organization on matters of project scope. It works with each of these groups to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and continually optimize the scoping and SOW/SOS templates based on what it learns. Salesforce is the system of record for every request and the artifacts produced in support of it, and SharePoint is the repository for all scoping and SOW documents, so this role must keep both accurate and current.
This role operates in a high-volume environment where some requests are quick-turn. It must be prepared and capable of moving at speed while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Job Duties Include:
- Responds to Sales Requests in Salesforce by producing estimates of the hours and effort required for a project, to inform the pricing and quoting of the project and the defined effort.
- Writes clear, precise Statements of Work and Statements of Services that define the specific tasking associated with each project and align CentralSquare and the client on what will be delivered.
- Ensures quality and accuracy in every scoping estimate and SOW/SOS, so that project teams and clients share the same understanding of scope and expectations.
- Works collaboratively with Regional Account Executives, Sales Directors, Pricing Managers, Proposal Managers, product management groups, and the services organization to clarify scope, validate assumptions, and resolve open questions.
- Acts as a conduit between sales and the business units responsible for planning, delivering, and supporting CentralSquare Solutions, communicating scope decisions simply and clearly to each audience.
- Maintains Salesforce as the repository for all information collected around scoping requests and the artifacts produced in support of them, and tracks completion of each request against its corresponding sales opportunity.
- Maintains all scoping and SOW/SOS documents in SharePoint according to team standards, including version control and organization.
- Continually optimizes scoping and SOW/SOS templates based on clarifications with product management and services, so that future requests need fewer clarification cycles and less rework.
- Manages a relatively large volume of concurrent requests, including quick-turn requests, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
- Flags risks, gaps, and inconsistencies in requests early, before they become resourcing issues for project teams or scope disputes with the client.
- Participates in internal strategy and working sessions with sales, pricing, product, and services stakeholders.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce, including managing records, attaching artifacts, and tracking work against sales opportunities.

- Proficient with SharePoint for document management and version control.
- Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner appropriate to an audience including executive levels.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and with employees across sales, product management, and services.
- Analytical skills to determine the requirements of a project and translate them into defined scope and effort.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated record of accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to work at speed and manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment, including quick-turn requests.
- Ability to gain proficiency quickly in new tools, templates, and collaboration platforms such as Teams.
- Experience writing SOWs or similar contractual or project documentation is desirable.
- Experience estimating project effort or labor hours in a professional services, implementation, or presales environment is desirable.
- Familiarity with public sector or public safety software implementations is desirable.
- Experience with CPQ tools or quote configuration is desirable.
