Description
Position Summary:
Are you the person everyone calls when something needs fixing?
We’re looking for a Field Support Tech who’s part measurer, part fixer, and full-time rooftop problem solver! If you can climb up, take precise measurements of existing roof openings, and roll up your sleeves to make things right when a curb adapter needs a little help, then you’re the one we’ve been waiting for.
As our Field Support Tech, you’ll be our boots on the ground (and on the roof). From measuring openings before a project starts so our designs fit perfectly, to heading out to job sites to troubleshoot and fix issues (yes, a stubborn bolt counts as a worthy opponent), you’ll make sure our customers are taken care of every step of the way. If you’re handy, comfortable working at heights, and love the satisfaction of solving a problem on the spot, then we want to meet you!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel to commercial and industrial job sites to accurately measure existing structures and openings for new product installation, or in the event of a product error travel to fix the product on site as needed.
- Create detailed field reports, sketches, and photo documentation of site conditions, including all relevant dimensions, obstructions, and structural details.
- Communicate any measurement discrepancies, site challenges, or required design modifications immediately to the Sales and Engineering teams.
- Maintain and calibrate all measuring and field documentation equipment (e.g., laser distance meters, cameras, tablets) to ensure accuracy.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and site-specific safety requirements while performing field duties.
- Assist the Sales team in technical support, pre-bid site walk-throughs, and project feasibility assessments as needed.
- Assist the production floor as needed when field measure work is complete.
Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- 2+ years experience in a travel-heavy field position.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from architectural and construction drawings (blueprints).
- Proficiency with measuring instruments, including tape measures, levels, and laser distance measurement devices.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Competency with technology, including mobile devices, tablets, and basic CAD/sketching software for field documentation.
- Proficient experience in welding, Welding certifications preferred.
