Cattaraugus & Wyoming Counties Project Head Start - Olean NY. PROGRAM AIDE. Full Time $16.00 hour 1st Shift.
SCOPE:
- Reports to Center Supervisor. Accountable to Education Coordinator-Early Childhood Specialist.
- Provides assistance with program activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license and automobile available for work.
- One year of relevant work experience and background in early childhood education.
MAJOR DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with overall classroom and center operations including, but not limited to, inventory, maintenance, field trips and food service.
- Maintain classroom and center in a clean, safe and educationally sound manner.
- Provide mealtime supervision and related support.
- Conduct activities with the children as directed.
- Observe children in an ongoing manner, documenting those observations. Communicate any concerns immediately to the appropriate member of the Head Start Management Team for advice, counsel and any direction(s).
- Work in partnership with all staff to facilitate all operations of the program in compliance with Head Start regulations, guidelines and performance standards.
MISCELANEOUS:
- This is a job that makes modest physical demands (such as lifting children whose average weight is approximately 35 pounds) regularly; there may be evening work.
- Make provisions for substitute pursuant to policy; notify assigned supervisor as soon as possible.
- Must obtain and maintain certificates in First Aid and CPR.
- Participate in training.
- Other duties as assigned.
