About Bridgerland Technical College
Bridgerland Technical College is one of eight technical colleges in Utah. We provide high-quality technical education to those in the Bear River Region. Through hands-on learning and strong industry partnerships, we prepare students for successful careers in today's workforce.
What You'll Do
As a Part-Time Drafting and Digital Design Instructor, you'll provide engaging, hands-on instruction that helps students build the skills and confidence needed for careers in drafting, design, and related technical fields. You'll work alongside a dedicated instructional team to create a supportive, collaborative, and student-centered learning environment.
In this role, you will:
• Deliver competency-based instruction aligned with approved course outlines and current industry standards.
• Teach drafting and digital design concepts, technical drawing, computer-aided design (CAD), modeling, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrate and supervise the safe and effective use of drafting and design software and equipment.
• Assist with developing and maintaining instructional materials that reflect current technologies and industry trends.
• Evaluate student performance through written and practical assessments.
• Monitor student progress and provide individualized coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
• Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and competency documentation.
• Foster a safe, organized, and professional classroom and laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success and continuous program improvement.
• Stay current with advancements in drafting, digital design, CAD software, and related technologies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will have:
• A bachelor's degree with one year of related experience, a technical college certificate with one year of industry experience, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with four or more years of drafting or digital design industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of drafting principles, digital design, CAD software, and current industry standards.
• Strong architectural and mechanical drafting skills, including CAD proficiency and technical drawing standards.
• Experience using industry-standard drafting and design software and related technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to effectively explain technical concepts and demonstrate hands-on skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to support students with varying experience levels.
• A commitment to professionalism, safety, and student success.
• A passion for mentoring students and preparing them for rewarding careers in drafting and digital design.
Previous teaching or instructional experience is preferred but not required.
