Summary:
Be part of the Quality Control team focused on safe handling, inspection, organization, and movement of inventory while maintaining accurate records, following safety procedures, and supporting warehouse operations
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Member ensures effective movement of inventory between the dock and warehouse floor.
·Safely rolling and operating hand trucks and other machinery in order to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and appliances
· Unloads trailers of Appliances, Consumer Electronics, and Furniture · Where applicable the Team Member must open these boxes, remove the product, sort the product, count the items, and verify that the product matches the quantity, color, and specifications on the shipping label or packing slip. This information must be verified on either a manual ledger or a computer terminal. · Evaluates products and moves to designated zones for processing
· Tags and Labels Products with BrandsMart USA Tags, Clasps, or Other Labels
· Seal boxes using packing tape, strapping or other devices as directed, and transporting those boxes onto pallets for shipment. Any of these boxes may have to be moved by distances up to 50 feet onto pallets.
· Protects BrandsMart USA assets by following company policies · Performs daily housekeeping, including cleaning and straightening, etc
· Maintains safe/clean receiving area
Follows safety protocols and applicable regulations · Forklift operations: In some cases, the associate may be cross trained as a Forklift Operator to be able to fill in during breaks, vacations, and other special circumstances, as directed by supervisors
· Foster a professional working relationship with team members
Attend meetings and training sessions when required
· Miscellaneous duties as required, including cross department help as needed once cross trained
· Observe co-workers, supervisors and visitors and promptly report any evidence of theft or inappropriate diversion of products
Required Education Experience, and Certifications
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
· One years of related work experienc
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Must be able to package or stack products weighing from 5 to 75 pounds without assistance and from 75 to 150 pounds with assistance Ability to stand for extended periods of time
· Ability to work independently as well as in team environment
· Working knowledge or trainable in computer systems
· Self-motivated, results-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple ongoing projects and tasks
· Basic English writing skills and ability to communicate effectively
· Fluency in spoken English
· Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in all situations
