Summary:
The Terrazzo Superintendent is responsible for the daily field oversight and successful execution of Bonitz terrazzo projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association (NTMA) guidelines. Bonitz terrazzo scopes include epoxy and cementitious poured-in-place terrazzo, precast terrazzo, floor and wall applications, custom logos and designs, and restoration of existing terrazzo in commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. This role directs terrazzo installation subcontractors on site and owns field execution, site sequencing, productivity, safety, and field quality while maintaining strong relationships with general contractors, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
The Terrazzo Superintendent works as a parallel and equal partner to the Project Manager. The Superintendent leads the work in the field while the Project Manager owns budget, contracts, and change orders, and together they manage schedule, risk, and customer communication. The Superintendent verifies substrate readiness, coordinates mockups and sample approvals, oversees each phase of installation from divider strip layout through grinding, polishing, and sealing, enforces safety requirements, maintains daily project documentation, and drives punch-list completion and turnover. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with working knowledge of terrazzo systems and significant experience leading large construction projects.
