Job Summary
Blukers is seeking an experienced Journeyman Pipefitter for an industrial construction project in Houston, TX. Qualified candidates must have experience in pipe layout, installation, weld joint preparation, and the testing and commissioning of piping systems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial construction as a journeyman pipefitter.
- 3+ years of experience in the testing and commissioning of piping systems.
- Basic rigging skills.
- Proficiency in small power tools, including die grinders and right-angle grinders.
- Ability to read and comprehend piping isometric drawings and support details/drawings.
- Ability to read piping and instrument diagrams preferred.
- Proficiency in pipe layout and efficient work planning.
- Understanding of the use of all types of personal fall arrest systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare weld joints to meet project codes and standards.
- Perform pipe layout and thread pipe using a threading machine.
- Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and workpieces during installation.
- Clean and perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Safely traverse uneven terrain while carrying tools and building materials.
- Climb vertical ladders and work at heights as necessary.
- Access scaffolding.
