Part Time Instructor - Surgical Technology
The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Surgical Technology at our RELLIS Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary The CST faculty member has the responsibility to ensure that course objectives are met through provisions of assigned lab content and supervising clinical experiences. The faculty position also involves collaboration with other faculty members of multiple programs.
Principal Accountabilities
- Preparation of lab outlines and notes based on course objectives in advance to program director.
- Promotion of high standards of excellence in assigned lab courses.
- Demonstration of positive morale and team spirit. This will include support of the college and program mission, philosophies, and goals for students and community.
- Presentation of course content in lab setting.
- Maintains surgical technology lab equipment inventory and requests needed supplies from the ST Program Director in a timely manner.
- Ensures the availability of required training equipment and materials for each lab.
- Help coordinate lab instructor schedules.
- Coordinates Lab curriculum with the ST Program Director.
- Serves as instructor at the RELLIS Campus in Bryan, Texas.
- Documentation according to college and program policy.
- Making recommendations for equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Keeping informed and evaluating major trends in the specific areas of instruction methodology and technology.
- Participation in program and college faculty meetings and activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
Must be a certified Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA.
Minimum Competencies
- Organizational skills
- Computer skills
- Proficient in day to day surgical technology duties.
Special Notes To Applicants Applicant must be able to stand for long periods of time while evaluatingstudents.
Applicant must be able to pick up instrument pans that could weigh 25lbs. Travel to clinical sites for established externships is required. Check onclinical students to ensure they are getting their cases. As such, reliabletransportation is essential to function in this role.
