About the Job
We're hiring a part-time Field Operations associate for our NYC market. You'll be Blackbird's face on the ground: installing our hardware in partner restaurants, training restaurant staff, and keeping our partners live and set up to win. This role fits someone with a background in restaurants, hospitality tech, or restaurant vendor and supplier operations.
This is a 6-month, part-time contract for about 25 hours per week, split between the office and the field. We may extend it depending on performance and market growth.
What You'll Do
- Run on-site installs and onboarding for new and existing restaurant partners
- Set up Blackbird hardware and software to fit each restaurant's layout and workflow
- Visit partners whose devices have gone offline, find out why, and get them back up and running
- Train and retrain front-of-house staff and managers on how to use Blackbird well
- Fix problems in real time and share what you learn with the sales and product teams
- Set up new restaurants in Blackbird's admin tool
What You Bring
- Experience in or around restaurants (operators, tech vendors, POS providers, etc.)
- Comfort with technology: you learn new systems fast and can troubleshoot hardware and software on site
- You're organized, hands-on, and happy to roll up your sleeves
- You communicate well and quickly build rapport in person with owners, managers, and staff
- Flexible availability, including some early mornings, evenings around service, and occasional weekends
- Based in NYC, with a reliable way to get around all five boroughs
Pay Transparency
Hourly rate: $30 per hour, based on experience. 3-month contract, with possible extension based on performance and market growth.
This range is disclosed in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law.
