We are looking for a highly driven, results-oriented individual to join our team.
For over 70 years, Birkey's has sold, serviced and supported equipment for farmers, contractors and businesses throughout the Bloomington market. Our customers count on us for more than the machine. They know us for the service and support that keep their operations running every day, and that's why they keep coming back.
The Person We're Looking For:
We're hiring an Equipment Sales Representative in the Bloomington area. We want a hunter: someone who loves to sell, enjoys being out in the field with customers, and gets satisfaction from solving their problems with the right equipment. You have a track record of winning business in a competitive market, and you can earn a customer's trust and keep it for years.
Requirements
This role covers the whole sales process. You'll need a track record of finding and closing new opportunities while also growing an existing customer base.
The right person:
- Sells consultatively, not on price. You understand the customer's operation and show them the value of the equipment, the service behind it, and the dealership standing behind both.
- Is humble in their approach but relentless about reaching their goals. You're self-motivated, set your own priorities, and get results without needing someone looking over your shoulder.
- Builds long-term relationships. You go to customer, store and community events because you like being part of the community you sell in. You thank your customers, take care of their concerns quickly, and make sure every one of them is satisfied.
- Is a student of the product. You keep up with machine features and benefits, manufacturer programs, discounts and factory finance plans. You also watch what the competition is doing.
- Knows equipment values. You can confidently assess used equipment for trade and structure a deal that works for the customer and the dealership.
- Sells hands-on. You're comfortable running field demonstrations and making sure every demo or new unit is clean and ready to go when it reaches the customer.
- Is disciplined and accountable. You complete daily call reports, lost-sale reports and electronic deal paperwork on time and accurately, and you keep your vehicle, manuals and price lists in professional shape.
- Is a team player. You work well with service, parts and other departments to deliver the high level of customer service Birkey's is known for.
- Is coachable and trainable. You're willing and able to follow a proven sales process that may seem non-traditional at first.
- Has experience selling agricultural, construction or other heavy equipment is helpful but not required. Experience selling CASE IH equipment is a BONUS.
