The Sales Development Representative is the first conversation many defense contractors will have with Cuick Trac. You will find and qualify small and mid-sized manufacturers, engineering firms, and other federal contractors that need to protect CUI and pass a CMMC Level 2 assessment, then book qualified meetings for our Account Executives. This is an entry-level, remote role built for someone who wants to start a career in cybersecurity sales. No prior compliance background is required. We will train you on CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, and the Cuick Trac solution. What we need from you is curiosity, discipline, strong communication skills, and the persistence to have many conversations every week.
Key Responsibilities:
Pipeline generation (about 70%)
- Prospect into defense contractors and DIB suppliers using phone, email, LinkedIn, and sales engagement tools.
- Respond quickly to inbound leads from the website, demo requests, webinars, events, and content downloads.
- Run multi-touch outbound sequences targeting owners, presidents, CFOs, IT managers, compliance leads, and contracts managers.
- Book qualified 30-minute demos and discovery meetings for Account Executives.
- Meet or exceed monthly targets for activities, meetings booked, and sales-qualified opportunities.
Qualification and handoff (about 15%)
- Qualify prospects on core criteria, such as:
- Do they handle, or expect to handle, CUI or FCI under DoD contracts?
- Are they subject to DFARS 252.204-7012 and an upcoming CMMC Level 2 requirement?
- What is their timeline (contract award, prime flow-down, assessment date)?
- Who manages their IT today (internal team, MSP, none)?
- Who are the decision-makers and influencers?
- Document every conversation clearly in the CRM and give AEs a clean, complete handoff.
- Route partner-sourced and MSP-related leads according to channel rules of engagement.
Market and partner support (about 10%)
- Support event and webinar follow-up campaigns with Marketing.
- Help with outreach to MSPs, consultants, RPOs, and C3PAOs in coordination with the Channel team.
- Share prospect feedback, objections, and competitor mentions with Sales, Marketing, and Product.
Learning and development (about 5%)
- Complete onboarding certification on CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, the enclave model, and Cuick Trac messaging.
- Take part in weekly coaching, call reviews, and role-plays.
- Stay current on DoD and CMMC rule changes that affect buyer urgency.
