Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and qualified Special Instructors (SI) - Early Intervention to join our growing team! As a Special Instructor, you will provide individualized Special Instruction services in accordance with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). You will implement developmentally appropriate, play-based interventions to support children's developmental goals and provide services in children's natural environments, including homes, daycare centers, and community settings, or through telehealth when authorized.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized Special Instruction services in accordance with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
- Implement developmentally appropriate, play-based interventions to support children's developmental goals
- Provide services in children's natural environments, including homes, daycare centers, and community settings, or through telehealth when authorized
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support developmental progress
- Monitor and document children's progress toward IFSP outcomes
- Complete session notes and required documentation accurately and on time
- Communicate and collaborate with service coordinators and other members of the child's intervention team
- Participate in IFSP meetings and progress reviews as needed
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in special education or early childhood education
- Must meet applicable NYS Early Intervention Program qualification and approval requirements for Special Instruction (Birth-Grade 2 certification)
- Experience working with children ages 0-3 with developmental delays or disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with families and other professionals
