The Role
Do you enjoy working with your hands, talking to people, and solving puzzles? We are looking for a motivated Retail Battery Specialist Associate to join our front-of-house service team. In this role, you will be the face of our business, welcoming customers, testing their devices or vehicles, recommending the right battery solutions, and installing them safely on-site. No advanced engineering degree required; we provide full, paid training on all diagnostic tools and installation procedures!
Key Responsibilities
- Greet retail customers warmly, listen to their power issues, and provide excellent, helpful service.
- Test batteries and charging systems for cars, trucks, marine craft, motorcycles, and small electronics using simple automated diagnostic tools.
- Install replacement batteries safely, including under-hood automotive swaps and small electronic device battery replacements.
- Cross-sell and recommend related products such as jumper cables, battery maintainers, protective cases, and warranty extensions.
- Stock showroom shelves, maintain clean and organized service bays, and process incoming inventory shipments.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and product returns.
Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of retail sales, customer service, or basic mechanical/hardware store experience is highly preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers).
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical products in simple terms to customers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly to move and install heavy automotive or commercial batteries.
- Willingness to work flexible retail hours, including rotating weekends.
