Original job description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the design and testing of RF (Radio Frequency) circuits and systems for defense applications. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to launch their career in the defense industry with a focus on RF technology. Bascom Hunter provides solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace markets across various disciplines. We provide products and services across four product lines: RF Systems, RF Components, Neuromorphic Processors and Photonics.

Responsibilities:

RF Circuit Design: Assist in the design and development of RF circuits, including amplifiers, filters, mixers, oscillators, and antennas, for defense applications.
Testing and Characterization: Support the testing and characterization of RF circuits and systems using laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
Prototype Development: Participate in the prototyping and assembly of RF components and systems for evaluation and testing purposes.
Documentation: Create and maintain accurate documentation, including schematics, layout files, test plans, and reports, for RF circuit designs and testing activities.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including RF engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful project execution.
Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot RF-related issues during design, testing, and integration phases, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in RF engineering and defense-related technologies.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
0-2 years of relevant experience in RF circuit design and testing, preferably in the defense industry (internships or co-op experience will be considered).
Strong understanding of RF engineering principles, including RF circuit theory, transmission line theory, and RF system architecture.
Experience with laboratory equipment and test instrumentation for RF measurements and analysis.
Familiarity with RF PCB layout techniques and RF circuit fabrication processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance may be required.

Equal Employment Opportunity Information:

Bascom Hunter is an equal opportunity employer. We recruit, employ, train, compensate and promote without regard to race, religion, sex, color, national origin, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, disability/veteran, status as a protected veteran, or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state and local law.
