We seek a dependable, capable construction crew member with practical experience, initiative, pride in quality work, and a desire to learn and grow. You do not need to be an expert in every trade. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position. A significant portion of excavation involves digging by hand with shovels, including trenches and footings. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Tasks vary with project needs, training, and experience: • Site preparation, demolition, cleanup, manual shovel excavation, trench and footing digging. • Foundation and footing layout, forming, rebar installation, concrete placement and finishing, form removal, and backfilling. • Crawlspace preparation, vapor barriers, and insulation. • Floor, wall, ceiling, and roof framing; sheathing, beams, headers, structural components, additions, and structural modifications. • Roofing, siding, weather barriers, flashing, windows, exterior doors, decks, and exterior trim. • Residential renovations and bathroom remodeling; drywall installation, taping, finishing, and repairs. • Tile floors, walls, showers, and backsplashes; shower preparation, waterproofing, and tile-ready systems. • Flooring, including luxury vinyl plank; interior doors, trim, baseboards, shelving, and finish carpentry. • Cabinet and fixture accessory installation; insulation, painting, caulking, and final finish work. • Safely operate tools and equipment appropriate to training; measure, cut, assemble, and install materials; follow plans, instructions, and quality standards. • Material handling, loading, unloading, jobsite organization, safety, problem solving, and productive independent work when appropriate. Licensed plumbing, HVAC, and electrical trade work is excluded from this role and performed by qualified trade professionals. QUALIFICATIONS Practical residential construction experience and familiarity with common construction tools preferred. Dependability, punctuality, honesty, attention to detail, initiative, willingness to learn, teamwork, and safe work practices are essential. Must be able to perform essential physical tasks, including digging, lifting, carrying materials, and repetitive work, with or without reasonable accommodation. Reliable transportation to local jobsites is needed. Experience in framing, concrete, carpentry, tile, or remodeling is especially desirable. SCHEDULE Hours depend on project availability, customer schedules, weather, and business needs. Some weeks may offer approximately 40 hours; others may offer fewer hours or no scheduled work between projects. No minimum number of weekly hours is guaranteed. Schedules will be communicated as far in advance as reasonably possible. Employees are paid for all hours worked and other legally compensable time. GROWTH Hands-on experience across residential construction, direct training and mentorship, opportunities for wage increases as skills and responsibilities grow, and potential advancement into lead worker or crew leadership roles as the company expands.
