Job Description
The Inpatient Observation Unit at Grady Memorial Hospital provides care for a diverse patient population, managing both lower and higher acuity patients. This fast-paced environment requires nurses to exhibit flexibility, adapting to changing patient needs while potentially floating to other areas of competency. The unit consists of a mix of medical beds and trauma overflow beds, necessitating comprehensive nursing skills to accommodate varied patient conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Inpatient Observation Unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes and communicating with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatment as prescribed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assist with the transition of patients to higher levels of care as necessary.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, specifically in a similar specialty.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification are required.
- TNCC certification is preferred.
