Job Description
The Registered Nurse will be part of the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), caring for adult patients with common diagnoses including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions. The role involves the use of specialty equipment such as temp pacers, chest tubes, and BiPAP. Nurses will work with patients on chronic ventilation and will collaborate closely with respiratory therapy.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the IMCU setting.
- Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and provide treatment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and assist in care coordination.
- Document patient care accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Assist with procedures using specialty equipment such as temporary pacemakers and chest tubes.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Intermediate Care Unit or Progressive Care Unit.
- Documented travel experience is preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Active New York RN license and NURSYS report for licenses verification.
