Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel RN for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The RN will be responsible for caring for stroke patients, managing cardiac drips, assisting patients on continuous BiPAP, and supporting post-procedure patients. The unit has a patient ratio of 4:1, which may flex to 5:1 in cases of staffing shortages.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU.
- Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
- Administer medications and manage cardiac drips per physician orders.
- Assist with emergent procedures, including thoracentesis.
- Utilize tele monitoring and bedside monitoring equipment for patient assessment.
- Ensure adherence to protocols for seizure precautions and patient safety.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license in the state of Texas.
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required.
- Experience working in a Progressive Care Unit preferred.
- Preceptor or charge nurse experience is a plus.
