Schedule/Shift
Shifts are variable but primarily start at 8:30 AM. Nurses scheduled for PACU are expected to stay and finish the day as there is no shift relief in outpatient surgery.
Job Description
This role involves working in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), focusing on caring for patients recovering from outpatient surgeries. The nurse will be expected to provide high-quality patient care, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and guide patients through their postoperative recovery.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient recovery from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and manage IVs as per patient needs.
- Provide discharge instructions and ensure patient safety.
- Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.
- Conduct routine assessments and respond to patient needs promptly.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
- Previous charge experience is preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Valid California state nursing license required (pending licenses accepted).
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
