Four 10-hour shifts with a variable schedule and a shared on-call rotation for PACU.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Pre-operative, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Endoscopy Lab, and Infusion areas. Responsibilities will include assessing patients, providing peri-operative education, monitoring for post-anesthesia complications, and performing conscious sedation for special procedures in the outpatient services area.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments and deliver pre and post-operative care.
- Monitor and recognize post-anesthesia and post-operative complications.
- Provide education to patients about surgical procedures and recovery processes.
- Float between Day Surgery, Endoscopy Lab, PACU, and Pre-operative Clinic as needed.
- Participate in the shared on-call rotation for PACU.
Required Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in SSSU, PACU, Pre-operative, and Post-operative nursing is required.
Certifications/Licensure
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
