7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A with rotating weekends and 2 major holidays.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in Orthopedics will provide high-quality care focused on patient needs. This role involves post-operative care for patients undergoing total knee and hip replacements, as well as assisting with pre-operative procedures. The documentation system used in the unit is Meditech.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in the Orthopedic unit.
- Administer medications and monitor patient progress.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Assist with post-operative care, including dressing changes and assessments.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during their recovery.
- Maintain documentation accurately in the Meditech system.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse.
- Experience in orthopedic nursing preferred.
- Wound care experience is a plus.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Texas RN License (Temporary Licenses are not accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
