Schedule/Shift
Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with call requirements including 2 weekend shifts (8 hours each), 4 evening shifts (4 hours each), and 1 overnight shift (8 hours).
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will be part of a 20-bed unit with a total staff of 110, including Directors, Charge RNs, OR Coordinators, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs. The OR unit handles a variety of procedures, including robotics/Da Vinci, neuro, orthopedic, and trauma cases for both pediatric and adult patients. Documentation is handled through Meditech, and candidates must have Meditech experience to qualify.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and arrange necessary equipment.
- Assist doctors during surgeries, maintaining a 30-minute turnaround time between cases.
- Inspect, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment while keeping accurate inventory records.
- Conduct pre and post-surgical care including shaving, transporting, and applying dressings.
Required Experience
- Must have 2 years of current experience in an acute hospital setting, not a surgical center.
- Strong experience in orthopedic, neuro, and robotics procedures is essential.
- Must be willing to float among different specialties in the OR as needed.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Meditech experience is mandatory.
