This position requires working weekend shifts on a variable schedule, with a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Job Description
The NICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized nursing care to neonates requiring intensive medical attention. This role involves comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications, managing ventilators, and providing family education. The nurse will work in an interdisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality care for neonates and collaboration with other healthcare professionals on the unit.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring patients and interpreting data to assess overall health.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Implementing care plans and participating in the patient care team.
- Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate medical records using Epic.
- Providing education and support to families regarding infant care and treatment.
- Floating to other units as required, caring for patients under the age of 2 on pediatric units.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a NICU setting.
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 in a neonatal environment.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Washington or compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
