Job Description
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery will provide care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. The role requires expertise in monitoring fetal heart rates, assisting in high-risk deliveries, and facilitating breastfeeding support. The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team and utilize the Epic charting system to ensure effective patient documentation.
Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions during labor.
- Assist in vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Provide postpartum care and education to patients and families.
- Administer medications and IV therapies as required.
- Implement infection prevention measures and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
- Document patient information and care activities accurately in the Epic system.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Previous charge experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license (compact license accepted).
- ACLS certification required.
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- NRP certification preferred.
