This position requires 12-hour night shifts, working three shifts per week.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Labor and Delivery unit at a small community hospital, which experiences 30-40 births per year. Nurses will float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed and will engage in various responsibilities supporting both obstetrical patients and their newborns.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and monitoring of maternal and newborn health.
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and assist in deliveries.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies.
- Provide discharge teaching to parents on newborn care and breastfeeding support.
- Maintain infection control protocols and assist with sterile procedures.
- Participate in emergency interventions when necessary.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or a related specialty.
- Previous charge experience is preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active RN license in the state of Idaho.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, FHM, NRP, STABLE.
