3x12 or 4x12 Night Shifts (19:00-07:30), with every other weekend and holiday required.
Job Description
This position involves working in a community hospital setting's Labor and Delivery unit, which includes a 4-bed LDR, an OR, and a mother-baby unit with 12 beds. You will care for a patient population including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics, primarily addressing cases of 35 weeks gestation and above. Responsibilities may include assisting with labor and deliveries, providing postpartum care, and stabilizing preterm infants for transfer as needed. Familiarity with the Epic charting system is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status during labor.
- Administer medications such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin.
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
- Conduct assessments including APGAR scores and newborn assessments.
- Perform triage duties as needed.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of both mothers and infants.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with 2 years preferred.
- Previous charge experience preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Maryland RN License or compact license required.
- BLS, ACLS, NCC C-EFM, STABLE, and CPI certifications must be in hand at the time of submission.
