Night shift, with a schedule of 3x12 or 4x12 hours. Weekend coverage required every other weekend.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide care in a High-Risk Labor and Delivery unit, responsible for managing patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The unit has 10 OB Triage Rooms, 10 LDR Rooms, and averages around 7 daily deliveries, with some days reaching up to 14 patients. Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries, providing patient education, and monitoring maternal-fetal health.
Responsibilities
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and cervical cerclage procedures.
- Perform nursing assessments and interventions throughout labor and delivery.
- Provide discharge teaching to parents and support breastfeeding/lactation.
- Monitor patient status and fetal heart monitoring using EFM.
- Administer medications and manage IVs as directed.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
- Charge Nurse experience preferred, or willingness to train as charge.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Alaska RN license required for Auto Offer.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, and NRPS are required.
