Schedule/Shift
This position requires working 48 hours per week with a Night Shift schedule of 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00). Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts in every 6-week period.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity setting. The nurse will assess, plan, and implement patient-centered care using evidence-based practices. Responsibilities will include monitoring vital signs, administering medications and treatments, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary team members.
Responsibilities
- Assessing and monitoring patient conditions and responses to treatments.
- Administering medications and IV therapies as prescribed.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
- Providing education and support to patients and families.
- Maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic health record (Epic).
- Ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Assisting with specialty procedures as needed (e.g., chest tube insertion, ECMO care).
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 or better.
- Prior travel experience is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission).
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications are required.
