Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, every third weekend. Block scheduling can usually be accommodated depending on current needs.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery will protect, promote, and optimize health and abilities in a caring and healing environment. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of patients, ensuring compliance with best practices and advocacy for individuals and families.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in Labor and Delivery.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
- Safely administer medications and utilize pharmacological knowledge.
- Participate in effective resource utilization and time management.
- Engage in professional development and comply with all standards of practice.
- Support the nursing governance model through participation in unit council and improvement initiatives.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and nursing students.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in Labor and Delivery or experience circulating in an operating room.
- Five plus years of total direct nursing experience.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current NYS RN License.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- NRP Certification.
- FM Certification.
- ACLS Certification.
