Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment. The unit consists of 39 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. The nurse will assist in critical procedures including intubation, chest tube placement, moderate sedation, lumbar punctures, and laceration repairs. Nurses will utilize the MediTech documentation system and work in collaboration with a dedicated team of unit secretaries and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department to patients with various medical conditions.
- Assist in intubation and emergency lifesaving procedures.
- Perform procedures such as chest tubes, moderate sedation, lumbar punctures, and laceration repairs.
- Document patient care accurately using the MediTech system.
- Conduct patient rounding within a time frame of 30 minutes to 1 hour, ensuring bedside shift reports.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.
