Scheduled for 3x12 hour shifts, nights (19:00 - 07:00). Weekend coverage is required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in CVICU will provide critical care for adult patients and will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and care for patients with multi-system organ dysfunction.
- Administer cardiac drips and titrate vasoactive infusions.
- Perform procedures such as chest tube insertion and management of central lines.
- Monitor patients requiring acute and chronic renal failure management.
- Provide care for post-cardiac surgery patients.
- Facilitate care for patients requiring advanced cardiovascular support.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience is required.
- Experience with high-acuity patients, including those on ventilators, and the use of specialized equipment such as IABP and ECMO preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- NIHSS certification preferred.
- Must be licensed to practice in South Carolina at the time of submission.
