Responsibilities
Arcfield is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced space-based sensing and mission capabilities supporting US Space Force and national security. This role is intended for an experienced systems engineer who can operate across multiple technical disciplines, lead assigned engineering activities, and help integrate complex technical information into clear, actionable engineering products and recommendations.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior mission and systems engineering leadership, government customers, and multidisciplinary technical teams. This individual will take ownership of assigned engineering threads, perform system-level analysis, integrate inputs from multiple technical sources, and help ensure that engineering products and recommendations remain aligned with mission objectives and customer needs.
The role provides an opportunity for an experienced engineer to operate beyond an individual technical discipline and contribute to the broader mission engineering effort. The ideal candidate can understand complex systems, recognize relationships across technical information, organize ambiguous problems, and help drive engineering teams toward technically sound and mission-relevant outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Support or Lead assigned systems and mission engineering threads across the system lifecycle, coordinating technical inputs, activities, actions, and deliverables.
- Support the development and assessment of mission concepts, requirements, architectures, technical roadmaps, and system-level engineering products.
- Integrate technical information from multiple engineering teams, requirements sources, architecture products, analyses, and government documentation to develop a coherent system-level understanding.
- Perform system-level technical assessments and analysis, identifying dependencies, gaps, inconsistencies, risks, interfaces, and potential impacts to mission objectives.
- Work directly with government customers, users, technical stakeholders, and engineering teams to understand priorities, clarify technical questions, and communicate engineering findings.
- Participate in and, when appropriate, facilitate technical working groups, reviews, user engagements, and engineering discussions.
- Support the Senior Mission Engineers in integrating outputs across multiple engineering threads and ensuring consistency among requirements, architecture, analysis, and mission objectives.
- Support technical solutioning by helping develop candidate approaches, evaluate tradeoffs, and assess system and mission impacts.
- Monitor assigned engineering activities and proactively identify issues requiring additional technical attention or stakeholder coordination.
- Help improve engineering approaches, documentation, and processes when opportunities are identified.

- Experience leading or owning technical engineering activities within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working directly with government customers, users, technical stakeholders, or mission organizations.
- Strong ability to synthesize complex technical information and communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent written, verbal, briefing, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple engineering activities, and adapt to changing technical and mission priorities.
Desired Experience & Attributes
- Experience integrating technical inputs from multiple systems, organizations, engineering disciplines, or documentation sources.
- Experience developing or assessing mission concepts, CONOPS, requirements, architectures, technical assessments, roadmaps, or decision-support products.
- Experience with system-of-systems engineering and understanding interfaces and dependencies across complex capabilities.
- Experience with integration, verification, test, technical baselines, system performance assessments, or lifecycle engineering.
- Broad understanding of space systems, sensors/RF/radar, satellite communications, ground systems, mission processing, data systems, mission operations, or related national security capabilities.
- Experience supporting customer engagements, technical reviews, and multidisciplinary working groups.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize patterns and relationships across complex technical information and turn them into actionable engineering conclusions.
