• • Position Summary Amplify Energy is seeking a Floor Hand to support safe and efficient onshore drilling and rig operations. This is a hands-on position working primarily on and around the rig floor under the direction of the Manager. The Floor Hand assists with handling drill pipe and tubulars, operating rig-floor equipment, maintaining drilling equipment and work areas, and supporting daily rig operations. This position is ideal for someone who is safety-focused, dependable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely perform assigned duties on and around the rig floor.
- Assist with connecting and disconnecting drill pipe, tubulars, casing, drill collars, and downhole tools.
- Operate tongs, slips, spinners, elevators, and other pipe-handling equipment as trained and authorized.
- Assist with tripping pipe, rig-up and rig-down, and other drilling or workover activities.
- Inspect, clean, maintain, and assist with repairs of rig-floor equipment and tools.
- Assist with mud pumps, mud systems, shale shakers, and related equipment as directed.
- Move and organize tools, equipment, materials, and supplies needed for rig operations.
- Maintain the rig floor and surrounding work areas in a clean, safe, and operationally ready condition.
- Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), pre-job meetings, safety meetings, and required training.
- Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and promptly report unsafe conditions, spills, equipment concerns, or operational issues.
- Maintain effective communication with the Driller, Rig Supervisor, and other members of the rig crew.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support field and rig operations.
Qualifications
- Previous oilfield, drilling, workover, construction, industrial, mechanical, or comparable hands-on experience is preferred but not required.
- Entry-level candidates who demonstrate mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to learn rig operations will be considered.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety procedures, equipment information, and other job-related materials.
- Ability to perform basic job-related calculations.
- Ability to safely use appropriate hand and power tools after required training.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a rig crew in a fast-paced field environment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, typically 10-12 hours per day, with additional overtime as operational needs require.

- Wear required PPE appropriate for assigned duties.
