This is an entry level position where you will work with our team to process and package beef, pork, sausage, and/or wild game, make pet treats, package custom sausage, and help out with basic tasks around the store as needed. This position starts at part time, but has the potential to expand into other positions or gain additional hours depending on factors like our workload and order density, and your motivation and ability to learn. You will receive basic food safety training and learn our sanitation and food handling policies as necessary for your assigned tasks.
Typically starts at minimum wage; everyone is welcome to apply. Relevant experience or capability may start up to 17.50/hr. We have a strict attendance policy due to the time sensitive nature of our work. PTO is granted on a case by case basis, rather than tallied as an accumulation, but can be as much as two weeks per year after your first year.
Physical tasks require standing for long periods of time, repetitive hand motions, lifting up to 60 lbs., sometimes repetitively, sometimes overhead, and sometimes in awkward positions. Occasional exposure to low temperatures in our walk in freezers.
Overtime is infrequent and usually optional; this varies by season. Pay is weekly on Wednesday via direct deposit or check. You may sometimes have the opportunity to take meat home at no cost, and always have the option to use a 37% employee discount on our retail products.
