Pay: $18-22 Shift: 1st shift Minimal experience requruied!Job DescriptionThis role involves planning and performing assembly operations for partial or complete assemblies using blueprints, drawings, and specifications while maintaining prescribed tolerances. You will assemble products using machine castings, prefabricated components, subassemblies, purchased parts, and equipment, with a strong focus on welding, spot welding, and general fabrication. A hands-on skills assessment will be required as part of the hiring process to evaluate your assembly, fabrication, and welding abilities.Responsibilities
- Plan and perform assembly operations for partial or complete assemblies using blueprints, drawings, and specifications while maintaining prescribed tolerances.
- Assemble products using machine castings, prefabricated components, subassemblies, purchased parts, and related equipment.
- Perform welding and spot welding operations on sheet metal, aluminum, structural components, and production parts as required.
- Carry out cutting, sawing, drilling, grinding, filing, and other general fabrication tasks to complete assemblies to specification.
- Set up and operate spot welders, MIG welders, and related welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and assembly sequences.
- Use measuring instruments accurately to verify dimensions and ensure products meet quality and tolerance requirements.
- Maintain production efficiency while consistently meeting established quality standards.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Lift, move, and position materials and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.
- Stand for up to 8 hours per shift while performing assembly, welding, and fabrication operations.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production and team goals.
- Participate in and successfully complete a skills test evaluating assembly, fabrication, and welding capabilities.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Strong shop math skills to support accurate layout, measurement, and fabrication.
- Experience operating saws, drills, grinders, spot welders, and welding equipment.
- Proficiency with MIG welding and spot welding in a production environment.
- Ability to accurately read and use measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Capability to maintain production efficiency while meeting quality standards.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of required PPE.
- Willingness to perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Successful completion of a skills test evaluating assembly, fabrication, and welding abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Glendale Heights, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $45760.00/yr.
