Job Title: Porter Immediate Hire & StartPay: $17 hourThis role maintains a clean, safe, and well-organized facility within a busy warehouse and distribution center. You will perform a variety of janitorial and general labor tasks, including cleaning work areas, removing trash, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure facility standards are consistently met.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, common spaces, and facility floors to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Remove trash, recyclables, and debris from designated areas and dispose of them safely and efficiently.
- Support warehouse operations by keeping aisles, docks, and storage areas clear, organized, and free of hazards.
- Monitor facility cleanliness throughout the shift and promptly address spills, clutter, and other safety concerns.
- Use cleaning tools and equipment safely and according to work instructions and safety procedures.
- Lift, push, and pull materials, carts, and waste containers as needed to support cleaning and facility upkeep.
- Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and facility guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and report issues.
- Work independently while staying productive and meeting cleanliness and organization standards.
- Adapt to different tasks and priorities in a fast-paced warehouse and distribution setting.
Essential Skills
- Experience in cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, or general labor roles.
- Strong reliability and consistent attendance.
- Ability to work independently and remain productive throughout the shift.
- High attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull materials throughout the shift.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work any shift, including 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, or 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and detailed work instructions.
- Dependable transportation and punctuality.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
