Job Title: Laboratory AssistantJob DescriptionWe are seeking a temporary laboratory assistant for a duration of 8-10 weeks, with the potential for a full-time position. The role involves supporting lab operations by maintaining workflow and easing the burden on technical staff. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, including a lunch break.Responsibilities
- Assist in the disposal of hazardous waste within a laboratory environment.
- Handle samples, including stool samples, in compliance with laboratory standards.
- Operate general laboratory equipment, such as centrifuges, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
- Support the lab operations team in maintaining a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) environment.
- Adapt to a high-volume workload and pivot to more urgent tasks as they arise.
Qualifications
- Experience in machine operation/assembly
- Warehouse experience
Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a laboratory setting where you will assist the lab operations team with the disposal of hazardous materials. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a large reference laboratory. Successful performance in this temporary role may lead to a full-time opportunity.
