Join a Team That Keeps the Oilfield Moving
Abra Controls is looking for dependable, hands-on Field Service Technicians who enjoy problem-solving, working outdoors, and supporting field operations. Whether you're looking to break into the oilfield, you're a seasoned industry professional seeking a more balanced pace, or you're semi-retired and interested in staying active while supplementing your income, this role offers meaningful work and a supportive team environment.
Our technicians come from a variety of backgrounds, including oilfield operations, industrial maintenance, mechanical trades, instrumentation, construction, military service, and other technical fields. If you enjoy variety in your work, take pride in solving problems, and appreciate the independence that comes with working in the field, we'd love to hear from you.
No two days are exactly the same. Our field technicians support client operations in real time, which means the work is dynamic, responsive, and driven by operational needs. If you enjoy sitting behind a desk or working the exact same schedule every week, this probably isn’t the role for you. But if you like staying busy, solving problems, helping customers, and working with a good crew, you’ll fit right in.
This is a full-time salaried position. Team members receive a consistent salary, regardless if client callouts occur. We value flexibility because our clients operate around the clock, and our technicians play an important role in ensuring we're ready to respond when needed.
We provide:
- Competitive full-time salaried position
- Hands-on training and mentorship
- A supportive and team-oriented work environment
- Opportunities to learn technical equipment and field operations
- Variety in daily work and job locations
- Independence and trust in the field
- A strong safety culture
- A rotating on-call schedule shared between field staff
Important Schedule Expectations
This is not a traditional Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM role.
Field technicians generally work between 30-40 hours per week, but schedules are based entirely on client and operational needs. Start times, end times, and days worked may vary week to week. Team members must be comfortable with:
- Flexible schedules
- Short-notice client requests
- Early mornings or late evenings when required
- Rotating overnight and weekend on-call assignments
- Occasional extended workdays during peak operational periods
Our Williston field team shares on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, with one technician on-call for overnight and weekend support while the other rotates off-call.
During scheduled on-call periods, technicians are expected to remain available and fit for duty to respond to client needs if contacted. At other times, work may include field assignments, equipment maintenance, inventory, training, shop organization, or other operational tasks that help keep our team ready to support customers.
This role is best suited for someone who understands the nature of oilfield and industrial service work and enjoys the flexibility, responsibility, and teamwork that comes along with it.
