Business Development Representative – Commercial Sales
Tri-Cities, WA | $80,000–$120,000+ Earning Potential | Uncapped Commission
Build Relationships. Create Opportunities. Get Paid for What You Produce.
1-Tom-Plumber Wenatchee is growing fast, and we are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Representative to help us expand our commercial business throughout the Wenatchee region.
This is not a residential sales position, and it is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk waiting for leads to come in.
We are looking for someone who wants to go create business.
You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with commercial customers, creating referral partnerships, opening new accounts, and making sure 1-Tom-Plumber is the company businesses think of when they need a plumbing partner.
If you are competitive, outgoing, money motivated, comfortable meeting new people, and willing to do what it takes to win, there is significant opportunity here.
We are a fast-growing company with a strong team, a competitive culture, and a commitment to investing in our people. For the right person, this position also has the potential to grow into a future leadership or management role.
What You'll Be Responsible For
You will own the development of new commercial business throughout the Wenatchee area.
That means getting out into the market, finding opportunities, building relationships, following up relentlessly, and turning conversations into long-term customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prospecting and developing new commercial accounts
- Building strong, lasting relationships with business owners, property managers, facility managers, contractors, and other commercial decision-makers
- Developing strategic referral partnerships throughout the community
- Cold calling and reaching out to prospective customers
- Walking into businesses and introducing yourself and our company
- Scheduling and attending face-to-face meetings with prospects and partners
- Attending networking events, business functions, and community events
- Taking customers and prospective partners to meetings, lunches, and other relationship-building opportunities when appropriate
- Consistently following up with prospects until the opportunity is won or clearly closed
- Identifying new industries, businesses, and partnerships we should be pursuing
- Managing your pipeline and keeping sales activity organized
- Working closely with our operations team to make sure new customers receive a great experience
- Helping strengthen the 1-Tom-Plumber brand throughout Wenatchee
- Creating opportunities instead of waiting for someone else to give them to you
What Success Looks Like
We are not looking for someone to simply make calls and check boxes.
Success means:
- Building consistent, solid relationships in the commercial community
- Bringing in new commercial accounts
- Creating productive referral partnerships
- Developing a strong pipeline of future business
- Closing opportunities
- Growing revenue
- Becoming a trusted resource to the customers and partners you develop
- Helping the entire team grow
We want someone who takes ownership of their territory and treats business development like they are building their own business.
Who Will Thrive Here
You may be a great fit if you:
- Are highly motivated by income and opportunity
- Are naturally outgoing and enjoy meeting new people
- Are competitive and want to win
- Don't need someone constantly telling you what to do next
- Are willing to pick up the phone, walk through a door, introduce yourself, and start a conversation
- Follow through when you say you are going to do something
- Understand that relationships are built through consistency
- Can ask for the business and close the deal
- Are comfortable hearing "no" and continuing to pursue the next opportunity
- Want to help build something rather than simply maintain what already exists
- Want your earning potential to be connected to your results
- Want to be part of a growing, competitive team
- Have an interest in eventually helping develop or lead others
Previous sales or business development experience is highly encouraged, but it is not required.
We would rather hire someone with exceptional drive, personality, discipline, and competitive spirit than someone with years of sales experience who is waiting to be told what to do.
Plumbing experience is not required. We can teach you our industry. We cannot teach someone to be hungry.
This Position Probably Isn't for You If...
This role will not be a good fit if you:
- Need constant supervision or hand-holding
- Prefer waiting for inbound leads rather than creating your own opportunities
- Are uncomfortable talking to people you don't know
- Avoid cold outreach
- Struggle with consistent follow-up
- Are afraid to ask for the sale
- Are satisfied simply meeting the minimum expectation
- Need every day planned out for you
- Are not motivated by performance and earning potential
We provide the tools and support. You bring the drive.
Compensation
This position is intentionally structured to give you an opportunity to build a strong book of commercial business while creating significant long-term earning potential.
Starting compensation:
- $60,000–$70,000 base salary
- 4% commission
- Uncapped commission
Expected earning potential:
- First year: approximately $80,000–$100,000
- Solid performer: approximately $90,000–$110,000
- High performer: $100,000–$120,000+
There is no ceiling on what you can earn.
As you establish your customer base and grow your production, the compensation structure will gradually transition over a period of up to two years toward a commission-driven model.
The goal is simple: the more value and business you create, the greater your opportunity to earn.
We Give You the Tools to Win
We don't expect you to build a territory without giving you the resources to do it.
The position includes:
- Company vehicle
- Company-paid fuel
- Company phone
- Company laptop
- Sales and operational support from an established team
- Investment in your professional growth and development
- A growing market with significant opportunity
- Uncapped earning potential
- Opportunity for future advancement into leadership or management
Requirements

- Clean driving record
- Ability and willingness to drive throughout the Wenatchee area
- Willingness to attend networking and business events

- Comfortable prospecting, networking, following up, and asking for the business
