Original job description

At Zimmer Biomet, we believe in pushing the boundaries of innovation and driving our mission forward. As a global medical technology leader for nearly 100 years, a patient’s mobility is enhanced by a Zimmer Biomet product or technology every 8 seconds. As a Zimmer Biomet team member, you will share in our commitment to providing mobility and renewed life to people around the world. To support our talent team, we focus on development opportunities, robust employee resource groups (ERGs), a flexible working environment, location specific competitive total rewards, wellness incentives and a culture of recognition and performance awards. We are committed to creating an environment where every team member feels included, respected, empowered and recognised.

What You Can Expect

The Supplier Planner establishes a dedicated planning capability for Zimmer Biomet's most critical external suppliers. Develop feasible, constrained demand plans for Zimmer Biomet's critical external suppliers over the 3-24 month tactical planning horizon. Level demand by supplier machine or capacity and surface constraints early.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Build monthly constrained demand plans for critical suppliers and level requirements by machine or capacity group.
  • Lead monthly supplier S&OP reviews to assess capacity, lead times, and constraints and align supplier plans with demand from end-to-end network and master supply planning.
  • Translate finished-goods plans into component and raw-material requirements using bills of material, and level demand to reduce supplier capacity bottlenecks.
  • Track supplier confirmations against the constrained plan, monitor deviations across the tactical horizon, and identify risks, root causes, and mitigation options for escalation.
  • Maintain supplier capacity and lead-time planning parameters and related master data in SAP IBP or the applicable planning system.
  • Coordinate with end-to-end network planners, operations and material planners, and procurement to reflect upstream constraints in the integrated plan and support the handoff to execution.
  • Support supplier-level product lifecycle transitions, including new product introduction and phase-out activities.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Understanding of bills of material and the ability to translate finished-goods plans into component and raw-material requirements; familiarity with upstream materials and processes such as castings, forgings, machining.
  • Ability to facilitate supplier S&OP or capacity reviews, align demand and supply, monitor purchase-order status and supplier confirmations without owning purchase-order execution, and coordinate across planning, operations, and procurement.
  • Ability to identify supplier risks, conduct structured root-analysis, escalate issues, and work with suppliers on sustainable corrective actions.
  • Strong communication, meeting facilitation, interpersonal, and influencing skills for effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Experience in MedTech or another regulated manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with collaborative supplier planning, including joint capacity reviews or supplier S&OP, is a strong advantage.

Your Background

  • Degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supply planning, materials planning, or supplier management in a multi-node manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP IBP or an equivalent advanced planning system, including planning parameters and master data; strong analytical skills and comfort working with capacity models and constraint.
  • Experience with constrained demand planning and supplier capacity assessment or leveling, ideally at machine or capacity-group level.

Travel Expectations

  • Minimal travel required
