Job Title: PLM Teamcenter Architect
Location: Dearborn, MI - Onsite Role
Work Type: Contract
Role Summary:
We are looking for a senior, customer-facing 3DEXPERIENCE / PLM Solution Architect to lead solution definition, architecture, and delivery support for PLM modernization initiatives. The role will focus on 3DX migration, legacy PLM modernization, engineering change management, EBOM/MBOM integration, CAD/CAE/ALM/ERP connectivity, and digital thread enablement across vehicle engineering and manufacturing functions. The key expectation is a strong hands-on architect who has led complex PLM implementations across both Siemens Teamcenter and Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE / ENOVIA environments, and who can define practical migration, coexistence, integration, and downstream process strategies in a large automotive OEM landscape.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead Solution Architecture: Architect Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE / ENOVIA-based PLM implementation and migration programs.
• Transition & Modernization Strategy: Define architecture and transition strategies for complex PLM landscapes involving Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE / ENOVIA, and legacy in-house engineering applications.
• Legacy Assessment: Assess current legacy PLM, CAD, BOM, change management, and engineering tools landscape and define future-state architecture.
• System Evaluation: Evaluate legacy applications such as EBOM, WERS, GPIRS, prototype material management, BOM, release, and change management systems for modernization, integration, retirement, or coexistence with 3DX.
• Migration & Coexistence: Develop solution options for Teamcenter-to-3DX migration, coexistence, data synchronization, integration patterns, and phased transformation.
• Engineering Change Management: Design solutions for Engineering Change Management / ECM, including change request, change notice, impact analysis, approval workflows, and release governance.
• Integration Architecture: Define integration architecture across 3DX, CAD systems, CAE tools, ALM, ERP, MES, MBOM, manufacturing planning, supplier collaboration, and downstream enterprise platforms.
• BOM & Digital Thread Alignment: Support EBOM to MBOM alignment, product structure management, variant/configuration management, and digital thread traceability.
• Data Strategy & Cutover: Lead data migration strategy, including legacy data assessment, cleansing, mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Lead customer-facing architecture discussions with PLM, Engineering IT, Manufacturing IT, and business stakeholders to shape modernization roadmaps.
• Execution & Workshops: Drive solution workshops, process fit-gap analysis, technical design reviews, integration blueprinting, and implementation roadmap planning.
• AI / GenAI Innovation: Identify opportunities to apply AI/GenAI for PLM data quality, change impact analysis, engineering knowledge search, and workflow acceleration.
• Governance & Standards: Provide governance on architecture standards, integration patterns, security, performance, scalability, and deployment readiness.
Required Experience
• 12+ years of experience in PLM consulting, solution architecture, or enterprise engineering systems implementation.
• Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE / ENOVIA Expertise: Strong hands-on experience including at least one large-scale implementation, preferably in automotive or discrete manufacturing.
• Siemens Teamcenter Knowledge: Prior experience with Siemens Teamcenter implementation, migration, integration, or coexistence architecture.
• Automotive / Manufacturing Context: Experience in automotive or manufacturing PLM programs, preferably with OEM or Tier-1 environments.
• BOM & Change Management: Deep understanding of BOM management, ECM/ECR/ECO workflows, product configuration, CAD data management, engineering release, and change control processes.
• System Integrations: Experience with PLM integrations involving CAD, CAE, ERP, ALM, MES, manufacturing planning, and supplier collaboration platforms.
• Migration Governance: Strong knowledge of migration from legacy PLM platforms to 3DX, including data mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and cutover governance.
• Architecture Decision Making: Proven ability to lead complex PLM architecture decisions involving legacy modernization, phased migration, enterprise integrations, data governance, and business process transformation.
• Executive & Customer Engagement: Ability to engage senior customer stakeholders and convert business pain points into architecture options, implementation plans, and delivery roadmaps.
Preferred Skills
• Ford PLM Ecosystem: Exposure to Ford PLM ecosystem, engineering release processes, GPIRS / BOM / prototype material management, or related engineering toolsets.
• OEM Systems Familiarity: Familiarity with Ford or similar OEM engineering systems such as WERS, EBOM, GPIRS, prototype material planning, engineering release, and manufacturing BOM processes.
• Teamcenter-to-3DX Strategy: Experience in Teamcenter-to-3DX migration or coexistence strategy.
• Technical Breadth: Knowledge of CATIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, Teamcenter, Windchill, or legacy in-house PLM platforms.
• Modern Cloud & Integration Stack: Experience with cloud, APIs, middleware, data lakes, reporting, analytics, and integration platforms in PLM modernization programs.
• Lifecycle & Launch Process: Understanding of automotive product development, vehicle programs, prototype builds, manufacturing readiness, plant launch, and downstream manufacturing IT processes.
• Executive Deliverables: Ability to create executive-level architecture viewpoints, transformation roadmaps, fit-gap assessments, integration blueprints, and migration plans.
