Dispatcher

Young Transportation was founded in 1939, we are a family owned motorcoach company. We have more than 50 vehicles and we love what we do! We are seeking a part-time Dispatcher in Asheville, NC. This position is 25 hours per week, preferably Tuesday - Saturday, 12 pm - 5pm.

Responsibilities

• Managing the drivers availability schedule daily.
• Actively maintain the work schedule, dispatching drivers based on vehicles and hours of service, for both single and multi-day charters and tours.
• Track electronic logs, according to FMCSA requirements, to ensure drivers are compliant at all times.
• Assist drivers with over the road issues such as traffic delays, road closures or inclement weather.
• Create trip packets each day, including all trip specific information.
• Calculate and load meal money for driver per diem.
• Partner with maintenance department as mechanical issues arise that may affect assigned vehicles.
• Stock driver room with essentials for departing drivers to grab on the go such as timesheets and paper towels.

Qualifications

• Dispatch experience would be great, but we are willing to train.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills in person as well as by text and/or email.
• CDL with passenger endorsement a plus!
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and nationwide criminal background check, as permitted by law. All employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
