Facilities Worker – Maintenance

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule: Up to 15 hours per week

Position Summary

The Facilities Worker - Maintenance is responsible for performing general facility maintenance, repairs, and custodial duties to ensure the YMCA provides a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, participants, staff, and visitors. Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, this position supports daily facility operations, maintenance projects, and program needs while upholding YMCA values and safety standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, and custodial duties as assigned.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs.
• Complete snow removal, ice control, landscaping, and grounds maintenance.
• Set up and move furniture, equipment, and rooms for YMCA programs and events.
• Identify and report maintenance and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, functional, and welcoming facility.
• Follow YMCA policies, OSHA regulations, health and safety standards, and maintenance procedures.
• Assist the Director of Facilities with administrative tasks as assigned.
• Provide courteous and professional service to members, guests, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work cooperatively, communicate effectively, and demonstrate professionalism and accountability.

Required Clearances & Certifications

• FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Department of Human Services).
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH clearance.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance.
• Mandated Reporter training.
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification and Great American Academy certifications must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of facility maintenance experience.
• HVAC and CFC Class II certifications.
• Experience with general building maintenance, repairs, and custodial duties.
