Sr. Cost Analyst

XNRGY Climate Systems is a North American leader in sustainable design and advanced manufacturing of custom air treatment and liquid cooling systems. We deliver innovative, energy-efficient solutions for industries such as hyperscale data centers, healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical labs, semiconductor clean rooms, EV battery manufacturers, and life sciences facilities. We are expanding rapidly, with two new state-of-the-art production facilities in Mesa, Arizona, launching in 2025.

As part of this expansion, XNRGY is seeking a data-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst to join its Mesa finance team. The role may be filled at an intermediate or senior level based on experience. Reporting to the Plant Controller, this position will strengthen operational costing and financial visibility by directly querying ERP and data-lake sources, developing Power BI reporting, formulating scalable processes, and identifying operational cost inefficiencies across the manufacturing facility.

An overview of your responsibilities:

• Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations, performance routines, and user guidance that improve transaction discipline and operational outcomes.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that leverage data to streamline processes, improve cost accuracy, reduce waste, and strengthen operational performance.
• Partner with Plant Leadership, Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and IT to understand manufacturing processes, system workflows, data structures, and operational cost drivers.
• Analyze manufacturing overhead and SG&A expenses to identify unusual trends, cost leakages, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and data models that support decision-making and improve data visibility across the organization.

What you'll need, among other things!

• Three or more years of relevant experience in data analytics, operations finance, cost analysis, business intelligence, or a similar manufacturing role; level may be adjusted for the candidate’s experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, identify patterns and anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and convert findings into corrective actions and process improvements.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and cost concepts, including labor, overhead, inventory valuation, variances, and project or product profitability.
• Ability to map transactions and operational activities across systems, understand how source data flows into financial results, and identify process or control failures that distort reported performance.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI or similar BI tools, including data modeling, dashboard development, KPI design, and clear visualization of financial and operational performance.
• Demonstrated ability to directly query ERP databases and data-lake environments using SQL or comparable query tools, join data across multiple sources, and validate results back to source systems.
• Practical finance or accounting knowledge. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, data analytics, or a related field is preferred but not required when equivalent experience and analytical capability are demonstrated.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across Finance, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Operations.
