Original job description

GEOINT Analytic Methodologist (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency)

Intelligence analysis, cartographic practices, and other mission-critical intelligence products all derive from various forms of activity detection. Developing new tradecraft and analytic approaches remains imperative to the modernization of GEOINT sensor capabilities, empowerment of analysts across the GEOINT Allied System, and overall national and global security practices.

As a GEOINT Analytic Methodologist supporting the Office of Sciences and Methodologies, you will be joining XTS's mission-ready, efficient, and collaborative team supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). In this mid-level role, you will be applying your knowledge of established and emerging sensor technologies to enhance GEOINT tradecraft and training, work with emerging Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Moving Target Indicator (MTI) phenomenologies, and perform critical Activity Based Intelligence (ABI) practices with various NGA analysis tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, the desired candidate must demonstrate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience with traditional AND non-tradition National Technical Means (NTM) sensors
  • Experience with SAR and MTI phenomenology
  • Experience with Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) processes, exploiting vector GEOINT data, among other geospatial workflows
  • Experience with NGA analysis tools (e.g. Maven Smart System, SOCET GXP, RemoteView, iSpy, ArcGIS Pro, DotMatrix)
  • Includes familiarity with ABI applications and principles
  • Experience developing new tradecraft or analytic approaches to solve challenging problems
  • Strong communication and briefing skills

Desired Skills

  • Master’s degree in a geospatial or technical discipline
  • Experience with radar, ABI, or MTI
  • Experience evaluating non-traditional sensor capabilities
  • Experience supporting training development
  • Familiarity with automation, data science workflows, or scripting using Python, R, SQL, or similar tools
